Shiken

Invite members one at a time

Send an email invitation to one person, choose their role, and see what they receive.

  1. Go to Users (/org/{slug}/admin/users) and stay on the Users tab.
  2. Press Invite User.
  3. On the Single Invite tab, type the address in Email Address.
  4. Choose a Role.
  5. Press Send Invitation.

Only Admins and Owners can invite. The Role list shows roles below your own: an Admin can offer Member, Analyst and Content Creator, and an Owner can also offer Admin. Owner is never offered.

What the person receives. An email from Shiken naming your organisation, their role and you, with an Accept Invitation button. The link opens a page with Sign in or create your account, and they must use the invited address. The invitation expires after 14 days.

Tracking invitations. Unaccepted invitations appear under Pending Invitations, where you can press Resend or Revoke. Inviting someone who is already an active member sends nothing and tells you so.

Groups. The dialog also offers Add to Group (optional) when your organisation has groups. This only takes effect for someone who already has a Shiken account. A person new to Shiken is not placed in the group, so add them after they join.

Invite links. The Invite Links card gives you an Admin Invite Link (new users join as Admin) and a User Invite Link (new users join as Member). Press Copy Link to share one. A link is not tied to one address, so share the Admin link with care. You can replace both from the Invite Codes section of Settings.

User limits. If your organisation has a user limit, the Users tab shows how many are in use, and an invitation beyond the limit is refused before any email is sent. Admins and Owners do not count towards it.
